International Luxury Travel Market said today it would postpone until 2021 its annual Cannes gathering, but will offer a virtual event to keep luxury travel brands and advisors from around the globe connected.

The online event, dubbed “ILTM World Tour — access all areas,” will take place three days a week over three weeks in late November and early December, with each week focused on meetings with advisors in specific regions.

The first sessions, running Nov. 17-19 will connect luxury travel suppliers with buyers in Asia-Pacific; followed by meetings for Europe, the Middle East and Africa on Nov. 23-25; and North and South America on Dec. 1-3.

The virtual event, ILTM portfolio director Alison Gilmore said, was designed over three weeks in order to respect different time zones while still offering a “a truly global business opportunity for all our ILTM suppliers and buyers” Gilmore said.

“Whilst we know that virtual events will never replace our love to meet and share stories in person, we know right now that what counts the most is getting business lined up for 2021,” Gilmore said.

ILTM said it is still working out the logistics but that it will have more information on how advisors can participate in the coming weeks.
