FOUR SEASONS will open in Kyoto in mid-October this year in the thick of an 800-year old ikeniwa, a traditional Japanese pond garden.

Views are accessible in every direction, from the neighboring Kiyomizu-dera Temple to the hotel’s ponds and gardens.

The hotel will house 123 guest rooms, 57 residences, four dining options (including a premium sushi restaurant and a garden tea house), a spa and an indoor pool.

Rooms are a blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics and include details like washi paper lamps, fusuma screens, urushi lacquerware.

On the fourth floor of the hotel is a chapel with high ceilings inspired by bamboo swaying in the wind, ideal for weddings or intimate parties.

Reservations are being accepted now for arrivals beginning October 15, and the hotel is offering an introductory deal with dining credit.
