IF you’ve ever imagined sleeping on a bed suspended over the largest coral ridge in the world, imagine no more.

The room – which floats above the coral garden – can sleep four and is decked out in minimalist style. The room features a bed, a bunk bed, and an open-air living room.

The living room has direct access to the waters, so that guests can conveniently jump in for a snorkel or dive. Also note that the rooms are unbound by walls or doors.

The room is available for one night only on July 13, and Airbnb is giving the chance for one lucky person to win a night’s stay at the property.

The winner will get to bring along three guests who will not only sleep in the magical room, but also enjoy round-trip flights to Cairns.

Prior to the stay, guests will have the chance to have lunch by the beach prepared with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients by renowned Australian chef Neil Perry.

Guests will then dive into the ocean with a marine biologist, who will offer the divers insight into the marine’s ecosystem before they “check-in”. The prize is valued at US$30,000.

To be in the running, you’ll need to express why you belong on the reef and the best answer will receive an email by Airbnb on June 30.

After the competition, the property will be repurposed to host a turtle hatching program.

Beautiful reefs like these are only but a plunge away

Airbnb is not new to unusual property listings. In April, the company teamed up with French design firm Ubi Bene to create a 33-feet-deep water tank surrounded by live sharks.
