Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is growing its Asia Pacific footprint in October with two new openings in Bangkok and Tokyo.

Located in central Bangkok’s Langsuan area, the Kimpton Bangkok Maa-Lai is scheduled to debut Oct. 1. The property, which overlooks the city’s Lumpini Park, will comprise 362 guestrooms and 131 residences.

The property will house several food and beverage venues, including Craft, an all-day lobby bar serving coffee, craft beer and coffee cocktails; rooftop garden and bar Bar.Yard; and cocktail bar Ms. Jigger.

Slated to open Oct. 2, the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo is located in proximity to famous Tokyo landmarks like Shibuya Crossing and Shinjuku Station and will feature 151 guestrooms.

Other amenities at the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo will include meetings and event spaces, a health and fitness center and a chapel that doubles as an art gallery. The hotel will also offer dining options like District, which is billed as a “modern Tokyo brasserie,” and New York-inspired deli cafe the Jones.

Both the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo and Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok are currently taking reservations.

The two properties join the Kimpton Da An Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, to bring the brand’s Asia-Pacific property count to three. Kimpton, which is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group portfolio, has plans to further expand in the region, with outposts in Hong Kong; Shanghai; Sanya, China; and Bali also in the pipeline.
