Lemala Camps and Lodges says Lemala Mara will open from June 1, 2020, a month earlier than normal.
The company says this is due to the current patterns of the Great Migration in the Northern Serengeti.
Addressing concerns it has received over the camp’s location, the company says: “We would like to advise you that we are in talks with TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks Authority) to relocate back to the Kogatende side, south of the Mara River. Whilst discussions are ongoing we are unable to confirm the exact location and co-ordinates of Lemala Mara. Our discussions have been positive and we fully anticipate that we will be south of the Mara River in 2020.”
