Lindblad Expeditions has cancelled two more voyages of its newly-completed National Geographic Quest, which was grounded in the process of being launched from its construction platform at the Nichols Brothers shipyard in Freeland, Wash.

A statement from Lindblad said the 100-passenger ship slid off the launch ramp improperly, damaging a propeller and rudder. The statement said at first the damage seemed minor but after divers were sent to inspect it became clear a dry dock would be needed for full repair.

Lindblad had already cancelled the June 26 inaugural voyage. It has now scrubbed the July 8 and 15 departure dates as well.

Guests on the affected cruises can transfer to one of five other Lindblad summer departures on existing ships for a 50% price reduction, choose another Lindblad sailing in 2017 or 2018 at a 50% reduction or get a full refund and a $2,000 per person future cruise credit. Lindblad will also cover airfare change fees, it said.

The Quest will sail from Seattle on British Columbia and Alaska cruises.
