Meet the “gangsta gardner” who’s fighting food deserts in Los Angeles

IN INNER-CITY “FOOD DESERTS” across the United States, one in three people have to walk over a mile to find a grocery store. Ron Finley is making sure this changes. He convinced the LA city council to allow street curbs and open spaces to be turned into gardens and has developed programs teaching kids how to grow and cook their own food.
