Ker & Downey’s Shinde tented camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta has closed for a total rebuild and is scheduled to reopen on June 1.

Marketing Manager of Ker & Downey, Lebo Liphoko told Tourism Update that the camp would retain its authentic classic safari style and would have one family tent – two bedrooms with a shared en-suite bathroom – accommodating a maximum of five guests. There will also be seven twin/double tents and bathrooms will have indoor and outdoor showers.

Facilities at Shinde will include an additional outside dining deck, a new swimming pool and a new arrivals area.

Shinde Enclave, a camp within Shinde camp, will also be rebuilt to offer a private bar, lounge, dining area, mini library, outside fire deck and a sun lounger spot.

Based in Maun, Ker & Downey owns and operates tented camps in private reserves in the Okavango Delta, as well as Okuti in the Moremi Game Reserve.
