Palácio Tangará will open in São Paulo in June 2017, marking a new era for European-owned Oetker Collection as it expands into the Americas for the first time.

Exceptionally located in the heart of the economic capital of Brazil in the iconic Burle Marx Park, one of the city’s most important public spaces, the prestigious collection’s latest addition is a revival of 1940’s Brazilian glamour and elegance.

This hotel launch continues the group’s meticulous portfolio expansion, whilst remaining truthful to their founding promise: not just to open new hotels, but to create true masterpieces.

The hotel will offer 141 spacious guestrooms – including 59 suites – all with beautiful views overlooking the park.

The interior design has been entrusted to leading Brazilian interior designers William Simonato, Luis Bick and Patricia Anastassiadis, who have created a truly bespoke design concept for each space.

World renowned Chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten will drive the hotel’s dining experiences with zesty, innovative cuisine, and there will be a signature restaurant, Chef’s Table, bar, wine cellar, lobby and lounge bar, all with outdoor terraces.

Additional facilities will include nine function rooms, including a ballroom for up to 530 guests with terraces overlooking the park.

The fitness centre and Sisley Spa will offer something remarkable for São Paulo, and will feature a private garden, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a kid’s club.

A spectacular addition to São Paulo’s vibrant hotel scene, Palácio Tangará was built originally as Tangará Ranch in the late 1940’s by extraordinarily wealthy Brazilian Baby Pignatari, as a magnificently romantic gesture for his then-fiancée.

Some of Brazil’s finest creative talents were commissioned for the project, including iconic architect Oscar Niemeyer, in addition to Roberto Burle Marx himself.

Baby chose a peaceful place, amidst the tropically verdant nature, even then a fresh contrast to the fast-growing urban centre of São Paulo.
