PHOCUSWRIGHT, the travel industry’s research authority, is holding an event at The Leela Ambience Gurgaon Hotel & Residences, India on April 21 and 22.

The event will feature Airbnb’s head of global operations, Varsha Rao, and OYO Room‘s chief strategy officer, Maninder Gulati.

Rao will cover Airbnb’s ambitious global strategy and its plans to tap into India’s large demographic of offline, packaged-holiday travelers.

Meanwhile, Gulati will touch on transforming lodging supply via OYO Rooms, a new online hotel aggregator and booking platform based in India.

The site has over 5,000 hotels under its belt and a network in 175 cities across India. The platform will help services like Airbnb reach out to the Indian market. OYO has plans to expand to Malaysia.

Other speakers at the event include representatives from Skyscanner, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Uber Technologies, Wego.com and Booking.com.

In other news, Phocuswright recently announced a two-year partnership with Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), allowing PATA Innovation Forum attendees access to Phocuswright content and research.
