Leonardo Hotels has strengthened and restructured its management team in the UK following its takeover of the Jurys Inn Group.

Daniel Roger, managing director of Leonardo Hotels Europe, has been appointed as the new managing director of Fattal Hotels Europe, including the group’s expanded UK portfolio.

In December 2017, Fattal completed the acquisition of 36 Jurys Inn hotels.

These hotels are joining Fattal’s existing Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh, Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport, and the five hotels acquired from the Portland Hotels Group in Scotland.

Jurys Inn will continue to be managed by the current managing director, Jason Carruthers and the Jurys Inn management team.

The takeover of Jurys Inn has added approximately 8,000 rooms and 300 meeting rooms to its portfolio, the Leonardo Group wants to open up ten hotels in several European countries in 2018; and a further eight hotels in 2019.

David Fattal, owner of the Fattal Hotels Group, which owns the Leonardo brand, said: “Thanks to this new structure, our management team is best prepared for any future challenges that may arise.

“Leonardo Hotels in Europe has experienced a strong growth over the past several years.

“Notably, the takeover of 36 Jurys Inn Hotels in the UK and Ireland, gave our expansion efforts an enormous boost.

“Daniel Roger, a hotel manager with decades of international experience, has now been given additional responsibility and will continue to lead our European Division.”

Daniel Roger joined the Fattal Group in 2006, heading Leonardo Hotels in Europe since then.

The European division of the group grew from one hotel in Munich, Germany, in 2006, to more than 130 hotels in over 75 cities and all under Roger’s leadership.

Roger has more than 40 years of professional experience within international hotel chains.
