South African Airways has reduced flights from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and East London.

Effective October 29, flights operated by SAA to Port Elizabeth will be reduced from four a day to two, and flights to East London will be reduced from three a day to two.

SAA’s two codeshare flights to PE, operated by Mango, will continue.

“There is every urgency to aggressively implement this turnaround plan in a manner that shows results in improved efficiencies and ensure schedule integrity for all our customers. We are therefore monitoring route performance and have made some capacity adjustments to align our schedule and frequency for sustainable and profitable outcomes,” says Tlali Tlali, SAA spokesperson.

SAA says ticketed customers will be re-accommodated on other flights.
