Acacia Africa is expanding its Southern Africa collection with two new small-group safaris, both of which feature Zimbabwe.

The company has already seen an increase in demand for travel to the country, a trend that is expected to continue this year.

In a bid to bolster the number of sustainable travel opportunities to clients, Acacia Africa has also launched a three-day Marine Ecotour based in Cape Town.

Sales and Marketing Manager at Acacia Africa, Arno Delport, said: “After Zimbabwe’s positive political transformation, we were keen to develop more product focusing on the country’s adventure capital, the Victoria Falls, as well as its hidden treasures, for example, the Matobo National Park.”

He said Zimbabwe was home to some of Africa’s best parks and, as they were still relatively undiscovered, there was little competition for vantage points, making it an even more enticing option for clients. “No longer aimed solely at second-time visitors to Africa, Zimbabwe is on its way to becoming a more mainstream destination, so it’s a great add-on to South Africa.”

The new nine-day Kruger and Victoria Falls small-group tour includes a three-night stay at the Falls and a rhino walking safari and game drive in Matobo National Park. The itinerary also includes stops in South Africa, with safaris in the Kruger National Park and Polokwane Game Reserve.

The nine-day Okavango Wilderness Trail also visits Victoria Falls, where clients will have the opportunity to enjoy a Zambezi sunset cruise as well as a tour of Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park).
