Renderings of the reimagined Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection on the Island of Hawaii have been unveiled. The resort is due to reopen in late 2019 following a $100 million redo.

The renowned resort on the Kohala Coast, the former Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, joined Auberge Resorts Collection in May 2018. It closed in October for a redesign and revitalization.

Interior design firm Meyer Davis is redesigning public areas and guest rooms, and architecture firm Hart Howerton is overseeing the refurbishment of the resort’s gardens and grounds. Auberge Resorts Collection said Hart Howerton is “respecting and preserving the ancient and sacred royal fishing ponds, native plants and the many archeologically important features of the coastal site.”
