Football fans will travel the country this weekend to attend Super Bowl LIV in Miami, watching the San Francisco 49ers play the Kansas City Chiefs.

Indeed, data indicates airports in Kansas City and California will see an increased number of travelers compared to the same period last year, according to Allianz Global Assistance.

Allianz analyzed traveler data for roundtrip flights landing in Miami and Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1 and leaving on Feb. 3 and 4.

San Francisco fans have proven to be a dedicated bunch. San Francisco Airport will see a 160% increase in travelers. Further south, Los Angeles Airport will see a 24% increase in travelers.

Chiefs fans are also traveling. Kansas City Airport will see a 45% increase in travelers this weekend.

This year, airports in what Allianz described as “known Pats destinations” with fans of the New England Patriots — who played in last year’s Super Bowl — will see decreases in travelers. Boston is down 76% and Kennedy Airport in New York is down 33%. Air travel from Florida airports is also down, which Allianz said is likely because football fans in the Sunshine State plan to drive to the big game.
