Thomas Cook (India), India’s leading integrated travel services company, was selected as winner of the prestigious silver award for Asia’s Best Integrated Report (First Time) at the 5th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA).

The ceremony hosted virtually on April 29, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was broadcast live from Singapore, with more than 200 senior business leaders and sustainability professionals from 15 countries attending along with dignitaries from academia, embassies, trade associations and advocacy organisations.

ASRA raises the bar for quality and authenticity of reporting while recognising and honouring sustainability reporting leaders in Asia and celebrating best practices in sustainability reporting and communications. The winners were selected from 461 entries received from 16 countries in Asia.

An independent jury determined the winners post a rigorous multi-tier process: evaluation of entries involved three rounds of assessments to select the best in each award category. In addition to assessing the report quality, comprehensive due diligence was carried out to consider the finalists’ reputation among their stakeholders as part of the judging process.

The winners of Asia’s Best Integrated Report (First Time) award category demonstrate how organizations have used the International Integrated Reporting Council’s (IIRC) concept of capitals, guiding principles and content elements to communicate its value creation story. Thomas Cook India’s award-winning report demonstrates the organisation’s leadership in sustainability reporting and its commitment to creating long-term value for stakeholders.

Commenting on the award, Mr. Madhavan Menon, Chairman and Managing Director, Thomas Cook India said, “At Thomas Cook India, we are honoured to receive the prestigious Silver award for Asia’s Best Integrated Report (First Time) category at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards. Today, sustainability reporting has grown to be an increasingly important tool in communicating to stakeholders, the material, economic, social and environmental impacts, risks and opportunities in building a sustainable business. This award hence serves as a strong recognition of our efforts and on-going commitment towards holistic and transparent reporting. And this we have delivered through our proactive adoption of the Integrated Reporting Framework in our annual reporting of FY2019.”
