Five years after initially linking up with Asia specialist Wendy Wu, Travel Impressions is expanding the partnership by adding all Wendy Wu product to its booking platform, including Tibet as a new destination.

The move is in part due to new leaders at both companies who say there is untapped potential in jointly selling Asia.

“Leslie [Peden, president of Wendy Wu Tours] and I took the reins at our respective companies around the same time last year, and it occurred to us that the retail industry is leaving a lot of money on the table with regard to Asia,” stated Scott Wiseman, president of Travel Impressions.

Travel Impressions is featuring 36 Wendy Wu tours for 2017, with destinations including China, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

Tibet itineraries include the 15-night air-inclusive “China & Tibet Discovery” and the 17-night air-inclusive “China & Spiritual Tibet” with visits to Lhasa, Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu and Shanghai, along with a three-night river cruise on the Yangtze.

In Japan, Travel Impressions is selling more of Wendy Wu’s experiential tour offerings, such as a sushi-making class, a sumo wrestling tournament and classes on Zen meditation or Kendo (a martial arts style utilizing bamboo swords).

Agents can sell air-inclusive packages and insurance to clients purchasing Wendy Wu tours. Agents also can offer Wendy Wu value-added promotions for air-inclusive escorted groups and private tours.

“There is no better time than 2017 to travel to Asia,” stated Peden. “With the strength of the U.S. dollar against most Asian currencies and increased air capacity between North America and China, Asia is an exceptional value.”
