THE Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM Ha Noi 2016) which is taking place between April 14 and 17 – will focus on products and ideas to develop the country’s sea and island tourism.

The mart – now in its fourth year – will see dozens of seminars, workshops and destination presentations on making full use of Vietnam’s seas and islands for development in accordance with responsible tourism.

The event will also offer updates on Vietnam’s inbound and outbound tourism trends, and discuss ways to increase professionalism in the industry.

Travel agencies, tour operators, medical tourism providers and tourism associations will participate in the mart while over 65,000 local and international trade professionals are expected to attend.

Vietnam is endowed with 32,000 km of coastline complemented by thousands of beaches and islands. The nation’s pride and joy, Ha Long Bay, has been recognised twice as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On another note, Vietnam’s low-cost carrier VietJet Air recently launched new routes to Malaysia and Taiwan. The airline has plans to increase its footprint in Asia by adding more routes in the region.
