Festive decorations, themed entertainment and a new experience featuring Macy’s famous parade balloons are all in store for visitors to the Universal Orlando Resort from Nov. 14 to Jan. 3.

Universal’s Holiday Experience Featuring Macy’s Balloons, taking place at Universal Studios Florida, will be a walk-through experience this year; in past years, the balloons have appeared as part of parades in the park. Guests will walk along a path where they will encounter floats and balloons themed around holiday favorites, including the Nutcracker and the Gingerbread Man, as well as characters from familiar films, like the Minions from the “Despicable Me” and “Minions” flicks. The experience will end with an appearance from Santa Claus and the chance to take a socially distanced photo with him.

At the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the streets of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade will be decorated with holiday finery. Holiday-themed performances will occur regularly, with Christmas carols from the Frog Choir and their giant frogs and holiday hits by the famous wizarding world performers Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. Hot Butterbeer will return as will other seasonal treats and beverages.

At Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventures, the Grinch will make appearances as he attempts to steal holiday cheer. The Whos from Whoville will also pop up in Seuss Landing.

At Universal Studios Florida, guests will get the chance to celebrate the holidays with a number of favorite characters during “Universal’s Holiday Character Celebration.” The Minions, as well as characters from the Shrek and Madagascar franchises, will sing and dance aboard festive parade floats. They will also perform some special holiday-themed show moments. Guests can take socially distanced photos with them.

A new Tribute Store dedicated to the holidays will open at Universal Studios Florida in the New York area of the park. It will feature four immersive rooms with new merchandise and food items.

Guests can follow the Holiday Treat Trail by grabbing a brochure that outlines the special food and beverage items at select dining venues. Guests who purchase all qualifying items will get a special treat.

Guests can also purchase the Holiday Tree Hunt, which will send them on a search for 16 holiday trees throughout merchandise locations in Universal’s parks and CityWalk. They will collect stamps at each locations and, when finished, will get a Holiday Tree Hunt-branded ornament.
