Victoria Cruise Lines next year will launch what it says will be the world’s largest river cruise ship.

The American-managed cruise line said the 287-cabin Victoria Sabrina will also be the most extravagant vessel in its fleet. The ship will sail China’s Yangtze River in the spring.

The Sabrina will have six passenger decks as well as an additional deck with a theater.

Designed in cooperation with nine research and design firms, the Sabrina will have an open-concept floor plan with elegant modern decor that draws on Chinese tradition, Victoria said.

Accommodations will include 275-square-foot superior staterooms with private balconies, 375-square-foot executive suites with VIP perks and 915-square-foot Shangri-La Suites with 1,320-square-foot balconies.

The ship will also be the first of what Victoria described as a generation of ships that utilize electric power, save energy and provide the smoothest ride possible.

“Though our entire fleet of five-star ships received a complete overhaul since 2017 — including our 2009 build, the Victoria Jenna — this new ship is the first to take full advantage of the increased water level of the Yangtze as a result of the Three Gorges Dam,” said Larry Greenman, Victoria Cruises’ manager of public relations and customer service.

Greenman said access to excursions along the Yangtze and its tributaries will also been enhanced.

“The mist-shrouded Three Gorges are just as impressive, but the overall experience goes much deeper into the panoramic vistas and traditions of the region and its people with new excursions and unique on-shore entertainment,” he said.
