“Postpone, don’t cancel!” is the message in West Coast Way’s statement announcing that its attractions will be closed for the duration of the lockdown.

“We are encouraging travellers to postpone their journey and stretch their legs with us on the West Coast when the lockdown has been lifted next month,” said the statement.

It also listed measures that would be enforced during the lockdown, including the immediate quarantine of travellers at accommodation establishments, the restricted movement of residents outside their homes and the closure of restaurants, bars and cafés.

West Coast Way advises travellers to visit after the isolation period. “The autumn sun also gives the entire West Coast a glorious glow that makes every attraction an Instagrammable moment.”

Travel to the region will also support local communities and help to keep them “#tourismstrong” during these unprecedented times, said the statement.
