AIRBNB launched a new feature for disgruntled neighbors to officially submit a complaint if they’re unhappy about concerns like noise, loud parties, disturbances, trash or parking issues, personal safety and criminal activity.

Once a complaint is lodged, the Airbnb team will review it and inform the host of the neighbor’s grievances. Neighbors can submit information without having their names disclosed to a host, or allow the team to pass along their contact information so the host can follow up with them directly.

Airbnb has assured that they will treat each case seriously as well as offer hosts and neighbors the opportunity to resolve the matters themselves at their own discretion.

The company emphasized that those who repeatedly fail to meet standards and expectations will be subject to suspension or removal from the Airbnb community.

Recently, the San Francisco-based lodging site bowed to pressure from regulators on the issue of “illegal hotel” listings, where hosts would run unlicensed hotels in private homes.
