Ian Baker-Finch has joined the team at easyGolf Worldwide – a luxury golf travel company providing golfers with holidays to the world’s best courses – in the role of ambassador.

He will use his expansive knowledge and love of the sport to offer personalised insight into each tour’s creation.

Speaking about his new role, Baker-Finch stated: “I’m excited to join easyGolf Worldwide, the leading golf tour group in Australia, as their ambassador.

“I have longed to join the golf tour industry to help expose Australia’s great golf courses to the world and to bring more visitors to our beautiful country.”

In addition to Melbourne’s famed Sandbelt and Sydney and New Zealand’s best courses, the initial tour offerings for 2017 include trips to South Africa for a golf safari, the US Masters in Augusta, Georgia, and the 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, where Baker-Finch won the Claret Jug in 1991.

Of the partnership, easyGolf Worldwide chief executive, Richard Tessel, said: “Having an ambassador of the calibre of Ian on board is something we are extremely proud of and we look forward to working with him going forward.”

Looking ahead to the agenda for 2017, Baker-Finch said he was excited to begin.

He added: “I am looking forward to returning to Royal Birkdale to relive the memories of my 1991 victory and am excited to offer a tour to the area for other golf lovers to experience one of the greatest tournaments in the history of the sport.”
