British Airways will start direct services between Durban and London Heathrow on October 29.

The service will be the only non-stop link between Durban and Europe and will be operated by the airline’s newest aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Return fares from Durban will start from R11 679 including taxes.

Sue Petrie, Commercial Manager of British Airways Southern Africa, says the flights should help grow international tourism to KwaZulu Natal and provide a more convenient alternative for the province’s business travellers and holidaymakers wanting to get to the UK and Europe.

The winter 2018 schedule will operate as follows: Flight BA41 will depart London Heathrow on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 15h45 and arrive in Durban at 05h35 the next day. Flight BA40 will depart Durban on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 07h35 and arrive in London at 17h45.

The summer 2019 schedule will operate as follows: Flight BA41 will depart London on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 16h45 and arrive in Durban at 05h35 the next day. Flight BA40 will depart Durban on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 07h35 and arrive in London at 18h45.
