Fiji has now become an ideal interest of the Pacific Island for medical treatment provided by the specialists coming from India.

The countries have been in contact with Sahyadri Specialty Pacific Hospital (SSPHL) Fiji that brings in Indian specialists for open heart surgeries, neurosurgeries and spinal, and orthopaedic surgeries.

SSPHL is registered in Fiji and has a joint venture agreement with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to provide tertiary care.

A feature of the tertiary care package in Fiji is that patients do not have to pay additional fees for the extra days they stay in the hospital.

Few doctors from Australia and New Zealand have also started to selectively refer patients to Fiji for medical procedures.

SSPHL Fiji is working with the Ministry of health to develop medical tourism in Fiji. SSPHL plans to offer kidney and other organ transplants in Fiji in the near future.
