THE Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has unveiled their ‘Thailand CONNECT Welcome Package 2016’ to raise awareness of Thailand as a premier destination for China’s MICE market.

Thailand’s top source market in the MICE industry is China, and this program will enhance its position to host world-class events in the fast-growing ASEAN region.

The second phase of the Welcome Package will ensure that MICE travelers are equipped with the essentials to connect with businesses in Thailand.

Special privileges include a Thailand CONNECT edition BTS rail pass and a Bangkok map that covers five major MICE venues and key attractions including those in the Ratchaprasong areas. Travelers also get a Thailand CONNECT USB drive card, seven-day free WiFi usage, and a discount guidebook for products and services.

Thailand plays an important role as ASEAN’s hub for connectivity, and the country’s MICE industry has contributed significantly to the Thai economy.

According to Travel Daily News, from October 2014 to September 2015, Thailand attracted 1,095,995 business event visitors, of which 109,987 were Chinese MICE travellers.
