Sandton’s first business resort – The Capital On The Park – opened officially last week, bringing a venue that combines “meeting, eating, drinking, playing and staying, all under one roof”.

The new R500m (€34.54m) business resort offers world-class business facilities, accommodation and leisure and entertainment facilities that create a seamless ‘bleisure’ experience for guests.

Managing Director of The Capital Hotels and Apartments, Marc Wachsberger, says: “We have built a business resort so that busy executives can enjoy work, stay and play all in one exciting destination. Our version of a resort is for travellers looking for a hotel where they can be sociable when they aren’t working or resting.”

The business resort offers 300 rooms made up of 175 standard rooms, five studio apartments, and 125 one- and two-bedroom apartments (interlinked with doors). Residential penthouses are also available for locals who seek the upmarket city apartment lifestyle. The resort has a conference centre that seats up to 500 delegates, a 24/7 on-the-go deli, restaurants, and a gym with its own personal trainer and specialised fitness classes.

A signature outdoor champagne bar, social bar and restaurant with menus carefully created to showcase the latest food trends complete the offering.

One of the unique selling points of the resort is its daily change in entertainment options for long-stay guests, overnight business travellers, and city residents seeking somewhere new and exciting to let off steam at the end of the day. This can range from after-work cocktails listening to local beats from resident DJs every Friday night, to pool parties and themed buffets.

“The Capital On The Park sets the benchmark in accommodation, conferencing and entertainment in the heart of Sandton, and truly responds to the city’s fast-paced demand for contemporary living, seamless business, and on-trend entertainment,” concludes Wachsberger.
